    7th & 8th Requirements
     
    Homework: assigned on a nightly basis, due the following class period. Failure to have homework will result in a zero. Homework quizzes and tests will be accepted late for up to five days, however, all late assignments will be graded one grade lower for each day late. 
     
    Compositions and Essays: assigned on a regular basis
     
    ACTION 100 Books: students MUST have an Action 100 book at all times in language arts class.
     
    Tests: administered accordingly. These will include: multiple choice, true and false, short answer, and open-ended questions. In addition, vocabulary unit quizzes and comprehensive tests will be administered during and at the end of each unit.
     
     
    Absenteeism:  In accordance with district-wide policy, students have three days to make up missed assignments due to an absence. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements to make up missed work.
     
    Discipline: students are expected to behave in a courteous manner at all times. The teacher will determine what is appropriate and inappropriate behavior. Classroom rules and expectations have been reviewed fully. Failure to comply with classroom rules will result in disciplinary action including: teacher/student conference, detention, parental notification, administration referral. Detentions are served in the afternoons from 3:00-3:30
     
    After-school help: will be provided on an “as needed” basis. However, I am available most days after school.
     
    Evaluation and Grading
     
    The New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Guidelines will be used for all open-ended questions, compositions, revision assignments, and speeches.

    Reading and Writing are the foundation for all learning.  Please encourage any aspect of these at home, and add your voice to the discussion!
